Aphrodite did it. 1.This whole war is over love,Aphrodite's specialty 2. She whisks away paris at the last minute causing more complications. 3. She gets really mad when helen goes skitzo. Joel V.D. 3rd
In my opinion the gods seemed to be the ones causing the most conflict (manipulating the humans). As explained in books 3 and 4 in which Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite all step in the middle of the battle (plotting trouble for troy). Hera doing all she could to destroy Priam, Athena who steps in and manipulates Pandoras’ into shooting Menelaus, and also Aphrodite who steps in and saves Paris from being killed by Menelaus. Out of all this Zeus allows this to go on. - Alison Robinson
Who takes the most pleasure out of the whole conflict?
The gods and goddesses. They just love to manipulate mortals. They're oh so powerful and immortal. They must have a lot of time on their hands. I'd say 'get a life'- but hey it's their life. They love to mingle, cause trouble and have their way. They're immortal, what else can they do? In the beginnning of Book III, Zeus calls a meeting to decide the fate of the war (basically) but no-Hera doesn't like it. She doesn't think all her efforts should be wasted, oh no because it was a lot of hard work. *Note sarcastic tone. Although Aphrodite is potrayed as a weak goddess, she sure does meddle. She saves Paris and she just won't tolerate Helen's bad behavior. No I mean why should she? I mean it's not like she caused this whole war! Oh wait she did. Aphrodite and her vanity! It's like a game to the gods and goddesses. The mortals are their puppets and they're the hand. At least in the book it all comes down to them. They're everywhere! If a god or goddess gets angry, guess who pays? The mortals. It's like abuse of power.
I think the one who pleasured the most by the conflict is Zeus. -It seemed like he was enjoying te conflict like it was entertainment or something. -And he used the situation to bug his wife which he seemed to have fun doing. -And last he lets almost the whole war go through with and then decides he doesnt like it and wants to start it over without the gods help. Like he got tired of helping them or something, but almost every second the warriors were praying to him and he was ignoring it.
Comment to Maria Gonzalez- I like how you get so into it and you seem to understand the story really well. Comment to Alison Robinson- It also seems like you get it really well, and your answers are really clear, and theres no need for explaining. Good job.
i think zues liked the conflict because he acted like it was a joke and the only reason he helped people was to mess with his wife and when hera wants the desctruction of troy he doesnt really care and tells her to do whatever she wants to do and so she tricks pandarus into shooting but then she makes it injur menelaus so the war would start again .:Donna:.

In my opinion I think the gods are the ones who take the most pleasure in the conflict in Books 3-4. First Aphrodite, the goddess of love, took Paris away from the duel between himself and Menelaos and essentially saved him. Then when we thought everything was fine and a truce was made and the two cities might have lived happily as friends and not enemies, the gods decided they weren’t done with this fight. Zeus sends Athena down to go and convince Pandaros, a Trojan archer, to shoot an arrow at Menelaos and to break the truce in exchange for heaps of rewards from Alexandros himself. This does occur but Athena makes sure the arrow does not kill the King it only injures him. This is the trigger for the beginning of another fight between the Trojans and the Achaians.
Who or whom seem to be the one/ones to take pleasure in the conflict on Books 3-4? Give at least 3 examples to support your theory.
The gods and goddeses seem to take pleasure on the conflict. For example Athena stpped in to help Alexandro win the battle to win Helen. Another example is that Zeus proposes them to fight again. Gods and goddesses pretty much control everything.
We think that Alexandro and Menalaos also like the conflict. They are fighting on who gets to be with the beautiful Helen. We think that guys like fighting for something that they really want so if they want it they are going to try there best to get it.
I think that one of the people that get plesure out of this war is Aephrodite because she is the god of love and the whole story is about the mixed up love trianggle beetween Paris, Menalaous and the beautiful helen.
Also i think that Ares is getting some pleasure outof this war because he is the god of war.
i aslo think that the war hungry men are getting some pleasure out of this war.
I think you had good answers for Zeus. The examples were well written. I do think that you shouldn't have focused just on Zeus because he didn't have all that much to do with it and there were other characters.
The gods. It seems as though they take part in lots of battles and arguements. It's almost like playing Barbie dolls to them. The godesses always pick like the cutest guys to help during battle. For sn example, Athena decided to pick Menelaos to help during the fight. They also had a meeting about the feud between Agamemnons army and the Achaean army, so they really care deeply about their people.
Also the people around them (such as civilians) also seek pleasure in the conflicts. Like the old guys were sitting on the wall watching the two young men (Paris and Menelaos) fight til death. We think that if it were our generation then there would be someone trying to stop them or standing in between them and just trying to break it up.
The last people or group that we said seeks pleasure in conflict would be the warriors themselves because they often are into conflicts. Like there has been a conflict every book:
book 1 King Agamemnon and Achilles book 2 the debate for staying or going book 3 Menelaos and Alexandros book 4 Battle between the Trojans and the Achaians
Who or whom seem to be the one/ones to take pleasure in the conflict on Books 3-4? Give at least 3 examples to support your theory.
I think that the people who get the most pleasure out of the conflicts are the gods. In fact, when you think about it, most of the conflicts are caused by the gods. For instance, when Zeus gets it into his head to get Hera all upset by suggesting he let Priam stay inhabited and let Menelaos have Helen in the beginning of book IV, Hera fires back with the fact that she's worked hard to destroy that town and no way is she going to let her hard work go to waste. Another example is Aphrodite. Not only is she one of the main reasons this war started (promising Paris the most beautiful woman in the world), she also ruined his battle with Menelaos. After "saving" him, she runs off to get Helen and gets upset when she gets snapped at. Personally, I can't blamer Helen for being upset at the goddess.
That last one was both Whitney Burney and Hannah Tripp- we wrote in class and i just typed it up... at home so give her credit for this one too... por favor!!! :D
At Joel: Good reasons, but I think you should've explained them a bit more. Like on your second reason, explain what complications came up or something.

I think that Hera and Athena most enjoy the conflict. They seem to love helping Paris, probably becuase he is cute. ( :) ) Athena seems to love making sure Paris wins every battle and making sure that Helen is still in love with him. The goddesses of love must really like this war becuase it is over something that they can control. Zues though, also seems to enjoy it a little bit. He loves annoying his wife and amking her mad. I think that she enjoys it more than him becuase she can control him on matters of love. Helen must really enjoy this too, since people are fighting over her. I agree with Maria, the gods seem to be abusing thier power and making this into a game. "Ah, who cares if a large number of people are dying? As long as the cute ones don't!" Doesn't that seem a little corrupt? -savannah

i think two main culprets in this are zeus and aphrodite. tho one is a god who is most powerful and almighty he seeks to anger his wife hera and he also goes thru with the war. then later he decides he wants to redo the war. i mean come on! you can't just rewind and start over the people who died ,died they can't come back and for all the hard work and years they went thru exspecially hera. poor woman. then there is aphrodite. a goddess who seems from my reading point of veiw likes drama and love. she takes paris away last minute and then the minute helen shows up to skitzo she goes nutzo. And over all helen just seems moody every minute she's changing her mind and has a different mood like she's bi-polar (yes i know we said that in class) but it is true if you read one minute she's happy then sumin goes wrong and she's freaking out which does not help at all it only makes things worse. At Joel: I thought your answer would have been better if it was more than 29 words. But, your reasons sounded good. At Alison Robinson: Which god do you think was most responsible?
At Maria: I thought your answer was really insightful and that you put alot of thought in it. I also thought that you added humor, so GREAT JOB!!!!!! -Savannah
I think that the ones that seem to be enjoying the conflict the most are the gods. They always have something to do with all of the conflicts.
one example is that Zeus is having fun by teasing his wife about the war. Another example is when aphrodite saves paris just before he is about to bekilled by Menelaus. She is always getting into the problems that the trojans and the achaeans have. All just to help out paris who started the whole war. My third example is when Zeus sends Athena to persuade a trojan archer to break the oath that they had all agreed upon. so she tells pandaros to shoot menelaus in exchange for heaps of rewards from paris, but when he shoots the arrow she makes shure that it does not kill him, but only injures him. Which starts another conflict.
it seems that the gods take pleasure in causing the conlicts. They take great joy in helping the humans but some times the gods plans and actions cause chaos. First of all the war is basically over helen and aphrodite caused that by telling paris she'll give him the most beautiful woman. Then the gods in olympus were debating on to let them have peace or to cause the fight. In one part during the story hera and zeus were kind of fighting over who they want to win so they just started the war by making the trojans break the oath. After the acheans and the trojans decided to have peace Zeus decided to send down athena to trick the trojans into shooting menelaos which caused them to fight.
aren't you supposed to have at least two paragraphs for your answer. Also you didn't really explain any of your answers. And what are war hungry men. That didn't make much sense.
commenting on Alison Robinson:
I agree with all of your answers. However I do think that you could of added some more detail to all of your answers. other than that you did an excellent job explaing them.
Look at Aphrodite . Just when Menelaos could've easily killed Alexandros/Paris, she makes him disappear. Then she messes with Helen, trying to convince her to stay with Paris and after a small quarrel leads to a threat, Aphrodite walks away smiling.
Then look at Zeus, fiddling between making the Trojans and Achaens allies or enemies, like he was playing a game. He does this while teasing his wife, Hera.
Finally, there's Athen, starting up the battle again. She disguises her self as a Trojan, and convinces Pandaros to shoot Menelaos. Why? Because her mom wanted her to,and she glad to do so.
Who or whom seem to be the one/ones to take pleasure in the conflict on Books 3-4?
The ones who were mostly involved in the conflict had to be Zues, Aprodite, Athena, Menelaus, Alexandros, Helen, and King Agamemnon. It started out with Menelaus and Alexandros fighting for Helen. Menelaus won but sooner then you know someone shot him down (Pandurus). Menelaus was happy with victory but now wounded he doesnt kno which way to turn. Agamemnon believes in Menelaus and wants to keep faith in him. The god like Zues, Athena, and Aprodite turned the tables a lot in these chapters. Aprodite felt that she pulled everything off when the fight was over and she was the one wh helped out in it. Zeus and Athena and Hera had there meeting on My. Olympos. They came up with something that clearly caused more conflict which was to start a war between the trojans and the acheans because the oath they promised to didnt sit well with them. The mastermind around the whole plotting was Zeus, he sent Athena down in a soldier's from, and persuaded another soldier form the trojans to fire at Menelaus. The soldiers did, and a war had to break out because the trojans broke the oath. Which caused much conflict.
I belive the gods were the ones to take the most pleasure in this conflict. They ocasionally help one side to upset the other and vice versa. They go around flinging magic arrows and stuff to show their power. They're constantly contradicting each other too. An example is How Athena was helping Menelaus to kill Paris. Aphrodite also helped Paris by loosening his neckstrap when he was being choked/dragged by Menelaus. Then she "teleported" (heh, heh) him away from the battle. Also in the begining of Book IV Zeus sits down with the gods and they decide the "fate" of the entire war. I wish I was these gods.
The answers are good, but not really developed. I want more detail, to bring it to life. You kind of left me dry. Sorry.
Commenting on Maria Gonzales: I love your analysis. You put the information together in an easy to understand form. Your opinion of Aphrodite made me laugh. Nice job.
I REALLY THINK THAT YOURSDE A LOT SINCE. AND YOUR EXAMPLES WERE REALLY CLEAR. IT TOOK ME THROUGH IT STEP BY STEP.
COMMENTING ON DEANDREAH'S:
MENTIONING THE CHARACTERS A LOT MADE IT MORE EASY TO FOLLOW. ALSO YOUR EXAMPLES WERE CLEAR AND UNDERSTANDABLE. YOU WENT IN TO GOOD DETAILS. AND CREATED GOOD VISUALS.
The Gods take pleasure in the conflict in Books 3 and 4. I know this because the Gods often take sides in the war.One example of this is how Athena saved Melenaos from the arrow shot by Pandaros. Another example is how Zeus says he will grant Achilles the favor of having the Achaean army lose on the battlefield. When Menelaos and Alexandros dueled, Aphrodite saved Alexandros' life. The Gods even had the choice of whether to end the war, or continue it, and chose to continue it. Not all the Gods wanted to continue the war, though. Zeus suggested they make the Trojans and Achaeans friends and end the war. This may have occured, but his wife, Hera objected. I would guess that the majority of Gods were for continuing the war because none of the other Gods objected to Hera's objection. Zac Abid, Alex McDonald, Jon Van Ess, Mitch Spalding , Haley Young.
Savannah, Nice, you unlike most others picked a specific god or goddess. (and you actually counted the # of words in my answer?) and the rest of you seemed to say more or less the same thing Joel V.D. 3rd
the gods because they were manipulating the mortals like puppets for their game of war. hera spent alot of time and effort to try and bring priam down. aphrodite broke the helmet strap and wisks paris away when he was about to be killed. athena went and persuaded pandaros to take a shot at menalaos, then go and bat it out of the way. and in book 3 Zeus was debating the outcome of the war!
The gods and goddesses for sure. Aphrodite was a HUGE influence in these chapters. - Aphrodite whisked Paris off at the last minute, saving his life. - Zeus sends Athena to convinces Pandoras into shooting Menelaus, ending the temporary peace. - But then Athena guides the arrow (sort of)to make sure it only injures Menelaus, doesn't kill him.
To: Zac Abid, Alex McDonald, Jon Van Ess, Mitch Spalding , Haley Young.
Yeah, the gods pretty much control everything, and yet they encounter so many conflicts themselves, it's pretty funny.
The Gods take pleasure in the conflict in Books 3 and 4. I know this because the Gods often take sides in the war.One example of this is how Athena saved Melenaos from the arrow shot by Pandaros. I would guess that the majority of Gods were for continuing the war because none of the other Gods objected to Hera's objection.
But didn't Zeus also say something about ending the war & making the two sides friends though? Wait, maybe that was just when he was teasing his wife. (sort of) Haha nice ending line. ;]
I think the immortal beings really had a great time. When the war was starting, they all just sat around, ate some food, and watched. Kind of like a sports game. And when Zeus started teasing Hera about the warriors, she got very defensive. It might have seemed like she cared about them, but really I just think she didn't want to have worked for nothing. The gods and goddesses seem to get some sort of kick out of wars. Masochists... Anyways, as soon as it looked like the war might be ending, might be peaceful, Zeus just had to send Athena to convince Pandoros to shoot at Menelaos. Was he trying to make the war last longer, to have more fun watching? I think so.
The gods. In the books three and four, you can just see how Zeus, Venus, Apollo and Athena are so involved.this is all based upon the fact that Athena is literely helping the Achaean army and theres more than one instance. One is when she deflects an arrow from a Trojan archer. Apollo is on the Trojans side but he is doing alot as well, for he is the one the archer made an oath to. Apollo is the that is urging them on once dthe battle has started once more. Not only the gods but the kings brother, to me he may only seem like he is fighting for his wife, but it also seems as though that he has a vendetta. A vengeance brought on by the abduction of his wife. I can see why he would hate Paris. Zeus one of the gods, who plays a key role in this war, is watching, though it doesn't say who he wants to win, but he does have alot of say.
Commenting on Alisson Robinson You stated some valid points, I liked the one where you said Zeus could have stopped what the other Gods were doing but didn't. Commenting on Donna I didn't think that Zeus was doing what he was doing to mess with his wife, good one.
the god take pleasure in conflict was zeus because he would just let almost every war happen. he also tried to do things without the other gods help. this showed that he was the one who got pleasure out of conflict.
Who or whom seem to be the one/ones to take pleasure in the conflict on Books 3-4?
one person who is taking pleasure in this war is Aphrodite because she is the one who started the whole war and who is to blame
another person who is taking pleasure in this war is Zeus because he is the major player in the war do to the fact that he could have tipped the war in either direction
the third person who would take joy in this war would be Achilles because he gets to sit back and watch as King Agemmemnon kills his men and will finally realize that he needs Achilles to end the war in his favor
Zeus, aphrodite, and athena, and apollo. They all were part of the war. Zeus controlled all that happend. aprhodite helped out the trojans. Athena helped witht he duel. Apollo carried the son of aphrodite out of the war.
I believe it's the gods/goddesses enjoying everything. 1) Zeus, because he was practically laughing at all of the war going on. 2) Aphrodite is more than likely enjoying it, because she is the love goddess, and this whole war is basically over that. 3) Other gods must enjoy it, because they have been interfering in the little things, stepping into battles, manipulating mortals, etc. ~Monika Steffens ~Garrett Steed
We think that the gods were the ones who got pleasure from the conflicts between the Acaians and the Trojans. Aphrodite likes the war because its based on love that Paris and Menelaos have for Helen. Zeus also seems to enjoy it. All the Gods gathered around to watch the fight. iT almost like they were watching a fight on tv.
I think that Zues found the conflicts more pleasurabble:
1. Evertime someone had a conflctthe went to him or had someone go to him with a request or a complaint.
2. He used the conflicts to mess/ bug his wife insome sort of way just to e entertained by it.
3. I think that he let the duel go through and then athte end he didnt like the decisions that they made. Mostly all the requests or prayers that were made he ignored for the fun of it is whatis seemed to me.
I think you had good answers for Zeus. The examples were well written. I do think that you shouldn't have focused just on Zeus because he didn't have all that much to do with it and there were other characters.
The gods took the most pleasure in the conflict becuase they know the peopl ewill lidten to them, so they can make them do what they want them to do. Hera seemed to take pleasure in he conflict because she put so much effort into heling the Achaeans and she wanted htem to overthrow troy. Also,Athena becuase she persuaded the trojan archer to fire an arrow at Menelaos so that the war wouldn't be over. She did this to please Hera.Aphrodite also becuase she saved Paris from being killed by Menolaos.
I have to agree with you. The gods just manipulate the mortal because they can. They taughnt and tortured the mortals only because they have the power to do so.
XxxXxxooo..APRiL CASSiTA..oooxxXxxX AND CHARiSSE JOHNSON
I think that Aphrodite was the one who enjoyed the conflict the most. She always helps the rival or the enemy. The whole war is about love and she is the Goddess of Love. She caused alot of trouble when she took Paris away.
commenting alison robinson I agree with you the gods were the main source of the conflict. I think you did a real good job with answering the questions and giving examples. so great job keep up the work.
commenting donna I think you did a good job but maybe next time give a little more detail. like you just give the basics and dont really add the interesting stuff. One part in your paragraph when i read it i get confused. It wasnt just hera who did that it was also athena and i belive aphrodite.
I believe that the ones who took pleasure in the conflict were the gods and goddesses. Why? Well because they manipulated all of the mortals into doing what they wanted them to,since they had a greater everlasting power. One example that supports my theory is that of Aphrodite, when she goes out of her way to help Paris while he was fighting with Menelaos. Menelaos would have choked him where it not for Aphrodite. So overall this complicated the situation even worse, and yet the consequences werent't Aphrodite's problems. The people had to figure out their own solutions to that. Another example is that of Zeus in the beginning of book 4 when he gets everyone together to see what they should do about the whole ordeal. When he suggests that the war should be started againg or let the two remaing sides compromise, Hera completely diasagrees. She believed that all her efforts would be lost this way. Afterwards, after a lot of fighting between the couple, she ordered Zeus to make the two armies against each other again. This brings me to my last example. Athena was sent down, disguised as Trojan soldier, to convince the archer Pandaros to shoot Menelaos. This therefore would break the oath, and cause a lot of chaos. Overall it can be seen that the gods had total control over the mortals.
comment to Monika and Garrett I liked how you gave more than three examples to support who you thought took pleasure in the conflicts. I thoiuught that what you said about the gods was accurate. I think that instead of just listing what you thought, you should have put what you said into paragraphs.
comment to Maria I really like how you answered this question. Im glad to see that you put it into two paragraphs. You give good details and your answer was fully developed. I really like how you gave your own opinion about how the gods seem like they abuse their power.
to joel i think you could have written more and had explanations and in my opinion i think it was gods and goddesses noy just aphrodite. bianca daniels
I think that Hera and Athena take the most pleasure from the situation. Athena just likes war. she is after all the godess of war. she enjoys discord and fighting among mortals.
Hera takes alot of pleasure from the situation also because she wants to see the Trojans destroyed. They have never insulted her or anything but for some reason she just doesn't like the ruling family. They both thoroughly enjoy the idea of the Trojans being destroyed. It makes Hera angry in anyone even mentions peace. Laura Johnson
commenting to james veenstra I disagree with you in that i don't think that Zeus is really in favor of the war. because, in chapter 4 during the council of the gods he speaks out for peace. in doing so he incours Hera's wrath yet he does it anyway.
commenting to maddie hoffman I totally agree with you in that Helen has the right to be mad at Aphrodite. After all Aphrodite came and completely messed up Helen's world. She was (we asume) a happy wife in a good home till Paris (sent by Aphrodite) comes and kidnapps her therefore starting a war that lasted over 9 years
COMMENTING ON JOEL V.D. Well I certainly think you needed more information to support your answers. Mrs. Velez said that we all needed to have at LEAST 2 paragraphs, and that's something you'll have to do in the future if you want a better score. I also believe that Aphrodite wasn't the only goddess that could have been used an example. There were plety of other gods/goddesses(Zeus,Athena, etc.) that had their share in all the chaos. I hope you take all of this as constructive critism.
COMMENTING ON MARIA GONZALEZ Your answers were easy to read because you specifally named the people that took pleasure in the conflict. I also liked how you added voice to your answers, by sometimes adding sarcastic tones. I do agree that a lot of trouble came form Aphrodite's vanity, when she saved Paris. Also great simile in saying that the gods were like the hands, and mortals the puppets in puppet show.
I would not say that Aphrodite was the only one who took pleasure in the conflict, because other gods took part in these two chapters besides Aphrodite. For example you could have talked about when Zeus sent Athena down to go and convince Pandaros to shoot an arrow at Menelaos that broke the truce. You also didn't really answer the question of who took most pleasure in the conflict by saying "Aphrodite did it". Also I think your analysis is supposed to be in paragraph format.
Commenting on Whitney Burney
I liked how you compared the gods manipulativeness of the humans to, and I quote, "playing Barbie dolls". I also liked how you added, in the end, the different conflicts that have arisen in all of the books. Good job!!!
I would have to say, in my opinion, the gods and goddesses, as they know that they can basically do whatever they want, the mortals are like the slinky the gods can play with for hours, and then be thrown in the closet later.
In my opinion, it would also have to be Zeus that seems to be enjoying the whole conflict the most, as he:
- Is really the one to decide what happens with the whole war.
- The war goes on, and then out of the blue, he just decides, "Eh... I've had enough of this...". And, he didn't really help; he ignored the prayers of the people for help.
- Almost had fun bugging his whole wife by doing all of this.
The person who takes pleasure from the conflict seems to be Paris. He always wins and is a touch selfish.A goddess is his secret.Aphrodite is helping him the whole time.-Zarah
commenting on Donna Your answers were really good. They were very clear and easy to understand. I think that you could have elaborated a little bit more though. Jake Green
Your answers were very clear and to the point. You were still able to explain everything though.Even though tye answer was short it still coverd what you neede to cover. Jake Green
Nice job, not only on answering the questions but also naming the gods. That was very important, it gave the reader (me) a clear sense of knowing that you knew what you were talking about
the gods of course, because they are the ones controlling what is going to happen so they just relax because they now what is going to happen because they are going to make that way. they are also having fun because they are on different sides and making people win or loose.they r the ones who controll what will happen so the are pleasured b/c allready know.
all examples used were describing why people thought they were the people who were pleaserd the most in this whole process. people gave good examp[les why they were so and they were also detailed. some people though could of had a littled more detail in examples though! but over all every one stated good reasoning for who they thought were most pleased.
I think the gods all enjoyed this, and here are my reasons why: 1. From Aphrodite's perspective, the war was about love, and he was the god of love. 2. Through all of this, if you noticed, Zeus does not do anything to stop it. 3. Queen Hera and Athena did not like the Trojans at all, so they were actually cheering on the Achaeans throughout the war. -Matt Hinkel
I agree with Hannah, although it wouldn't have mattered how long the response would have been if the answers would have actually made sense. It's okay if your answers are short as long as they make sense. Try to remember that. -Matt Hinkel
Wow! Great answer! You put a lot of feeling into your answer, and I can tell you worked on it hard and tried your hardest to add feeling. Your answer made a lot of sense to me and I enjoyed reading it a lot. Again, great job! -Matt Hinkel
The person who took the most pleasure in it was the gods. They get to choose the outcome and fight amongst themselves without dying. I think it would be kind of fun to be a god. Then, you could basically do whatever you wanted.
Aphrodite especially. This war is all about fighting over Helen. Therefore, it's about "love." And that is Aphrodite's specialty

COMMENTING TO JOEL V.D.: Your answers we're very well developed. But, you didn't follow directions. It's not two paragraphs, it's just one paragraph. Maybe include more details to make it longer?
COMMENTING ON KARA FAASEN: Good job on following directions. It was two paragraphs. I liked your answer and how you included lots of detail :)
In my opinion the gods were of the 3 that took pleasure in the war. Hera involved her self by enchanting fighters and trying to destroy Priam. Athena also took part in this because she went and tried to get Pandros to shoot Memlaons and succeeded in doing so. Aphrodite also enjoyed it through her plotting of the destruction of Troy through warriors.
commenting on Joel I like how you answered your questions. Even though I you did not give sufficient enough details to fully explain the reasoning behind your answering the questions. You should use more details in your answers . Commenting on Marriea You truly show your mastery and understanding of the topic of this book. I see this thought the answers from this question. I think that you showed exemplary understanding of this chapter -Justice Mason
I agree with you. I think Zeus didn't really take the fight too seriously. You could have added a little more about how Hera was really only upset because Zeus wasn't including her in his business.
What you said was true, but they didn't completely do it just for their own pleasure. Yes, they were a bit selfish, but they were trying to help in a way.

Aphrodite did it.
1.This whole war is over love,Aphrodite's specialty
2. She whisks away paris at the last minute causing more complications.
3. She gets really mad when helen goes skitzo.

Like he got tired of helping them or something, but almost every second the warriors were praying to him and he was ignoring it.
that last one was May Hogan by the way

Maybe a little more on why they like to manipulate, otherwise I agree with you.
i think zues liked the conflict because he acted like it was a joke and the only reason he helped people was to mess with his wife
and when hera wants the desctruction of troy he doesnt really care and tells her to do whatever she wants to do and so she tricks pandarus into shooting but then she makes it injur menelaus so the war would start again

Who or whom seem to be the one/ones to take pleasure in the conflict on Books 3-4? Give at least 3 examples to support your theory.

Like there has been a conflict every book:
book 1 King Agamemnon and Achilles
book 2 the debate for staying or going
book 3 Menelaos and Alexandros
book 4 Battle between the Trojans and the Achaians
Personally, I can't blamer Helen for being upset at the goddess.

who is having the most pleasure from all of this? I blame Zeus.

As long as the cute ones don't!" Doesn't that seem a little corrupt?

i think two main culprets in this are zeus and aphrodite. tho one is a god who is most powerful and almighty he seeks to anger his wife hera and he also goes thru with the war. then later he decides he wants to redo the war. i mean come on! you can't just rewind and start over the people who died ,died they can't come back and for all the hard work and years they went thru exspecially hera. poor woman.
then there is aphrodite. a goddess who seems from my reading point of veiw likes drama and love. she takes paris away last minute and then the minute helen shows up to skitzo she goes nutzo.
And over all helen just seems moody every minute she's changing her mind and has a different mood like she's bi-polar (yes i know we said that in class) but it is true if you read one minute she's happy then sumin goes wrong and she's freaking out which does not help at all it only makes things worse.

THIRTY FIRST POST!!!!!!!!!!!!
Read chapter 11 its exciting! And also...
Aphrodite sucks.
Savannah good job you answered 4 people. lol
Eulices Monterroso
it seems that the gods take pleasure in causing the conlicts.

The gods, definitely.
~De'Andreah Hollowell.
~TATIANA PADRON~

I think so.
maria- wow, i really like how you always turn it into your own words, how you really get it. whats your secret??
eulices- good answers. it sounds very professional, too.

1) Zeus, because he was practically laughing at all of the war going on.

3) Other gods must enjoy it, because they have been interfering in the little things, stepping into battles, manipulating mortals, etc.

Good job!!!

Commenting to Maria Gonzalez:
I agree with you that the gods are basically just controlling the mortals for entertainment.
Commenting to Joel V.D.:
Maybe you could explain more of what you think?

Who takes that most pleasure out of the conflict?

Joel VD- Your answers are good, but you could explain more and write a little more.
Savannah- I like how you went back and wrote in paragraph form, it's hard to remember to do that...

Your answers were really good. They were very clear and easy to understand. I think that you could have elaborated a little bit more though.

Nice job, not only on answering the questions but also naming the gods. That was very important, it gave the reader (me) a clear sense of knowing that you knew what you were talking about

Comment to Joel:
Your whole thing is only 30 words, my comments are going to be longer than your homework. Try harder.
Comment to Mallory: Your answer was awesome, you described everything very well, great job!
PS this comment is longer, Joel. (I counted)
The Gods take pleasure in the conflict, and helping their side to win.
1. Hera and Athena go against Zeus to have the two sides keep fighting after Melanos defeats Paris.
2. Aphrodite helps Paris by breaking his helmet strap so he doesn't get chokes to death, as well as carrying him away from the battle.
3. Athena tells a Trojan warrior to shoot Melanos, starting the large battle between the Trojans and the Acheans.
the gods of course, because they are the ones controlling what is going to happen so they just relax because they now what is going to happen because they are going to make that way. they are also having fun because they are on different sides and making people win or loose.they r the ones who controll what will happen so the are pleasured b/c allready know.

all examples used were describing why people thought they were the people who were pleaserd the most in this whole process. people gave good examp[les why they were so and they were also detailed. some people though could of had a littled more detail in examples though! but over all every one stated good reasoning for who they thought were most pleased.

I think the gods all enjoyed this, and here are my reasons why:

I agree with Hannah, although it wouldn't have mattered how long the response would have been if the answers would have actually made sense. It's okay if your answers are short as long as they make sense. Try to remember that.

COMMENTING TO JOEL V.D.:
Your answers we're very well developed. But, you didn't follow directions. It's not two paragraphs, it's just one paragraph. Maybe include more details to make it longer?
COMMENTING ON KARA FAASEN:
Good job on following directions. It was two paragraphs. I liked your answer and how you included lots of detail :)
--MEGAN CRAWFORD

I think that you showed exemplary understanding of this chapter

Commenting on Donna:
I agree with you. I think Zeus didn't really take the fight too seriously. You could have added a little more about how Hera was really only upset because Zeus wasn't including her in his business.

Commenting on Alison Robinson:
What you said was true, but they didn't completely do it just for their own pleasure. Yes, they were a bit selfish, but they were trying to help in a way.

I changed my answer I think Zeus enjoyed it the most.
*He likes to irratate his wife it seems like to me
*He's the one that sent that dream to King Agamemnon about sacking Troy when he was actually lying
*He didnt say much about Diomedes shooting his daughter's hand
