The Achaean's flight to the ships serves three important purposes in the narratives; what are they?
One of the purposes was to test the loyalty of Agamemnon’s army. He told them to go back, they weren’t going to fight, but Agamemnon had people along the way tell them to go back and fight. When they ran to the ships, it was to show how eager they were to go home, but they stayed anyways.
Another purpose was to show his power. It shows that he has extreme power over his armies and could manipulate them to do almost anything. He could tell them anything and they would believe him. The last purpose is to give a hint of their numbers. It says that they had throngs of men marching towards the meeting place, which shows that it was an extremely large army.

The people deserve all the attention they get. They risked their lives to fight for their civilization. The gods honored the people who died but they did it in their own way.

May Hogan & Emily Bennett: Book 2: -one important purpose for the flight of the ships we thought was to eventually conqure troy. And to return home to their families. - The second important purpose we thought was to protect and fight for helen. The beautiful goddess who at one point was almost left by the fighters who were going to return home and give up all hopes. - The third and final purpose we thought was to figure out who was loyal to the gods and the acheans & who wasnt. - We thought that there were many things to choose from and many stories to be told but these ones, as we went through, seemed to pop out and seem important they may or may not be right but isn't that what mythology is about? And what Homer wrote about. To let people read and decide for themselves weather or not it was true.
There were many reasons why the narrator included a list of ships and soldiers that came to conquer Troy. One reason was to show how many soldiers the Achaeans deployed to take over Troy and how determined the soldiers were to the loyalty of Agamemnon. Another reason was to help visualize just how large the Achaean army was, and to show a better picture of what is happening. Lastly, Homer showed how many soldiers and ships were sent to Troy because it would show just how many soldiers and ships they were pulling back and how strange it would be for Agamemnon to just send all his soldiers home. Zac Abid, Alex McDonald and Jonathon Van Ess
(1)The Achaeans’ flight to the ships demonstrates the ACHAEANS’ LOYALTY TO CONQUERING TROY, TO THE GODS AND TO THE KING. WELL TO THE KING IT WAS A TEST OF LOYALTY AND TEMPERAMENT. IT GAVE US AN IDEA OF THEIR BELIEFS AND OF THEIR TRUST IN THE KING. IT ALSO SHOWED THEIR RESPONSES TO EACH OTHER AND TO KING AGAMEMNON. PLUS IT GAVE US AN IDEA OF THE PEOPLE WHO FIGHT FOR THE ACHAEANS. REAL PEOPLE WHO THIRST HONOR BUT ALSO THEIR FAMILIES.
(2)IT ALSO SHOWED HOW THE GODS INFLUENCE THE MORTALS. IT SHOWED US HOW EASILY PEOPLE ARE MANIPULATED. FOR EXAMPLE, ZEUS STARTED IT ALL WITH THE DREAM HE SENT TO THE KING AND THE KING BEING THE KING HAD TO TEST HIS ARMY. THEN ATHENA PERSUADED ODYSSEUS TO SPEAK OUT IN FAVOR OF STAYING TO CONQUER TROY. (3)IT ALSO PROVIDED AN INTRO INTO SOME INSIGHT ON THEIR NUMBERS, BY INCLUDING MANY OF THEIR CAPTAINS AND A FULL DESCRIPTION OF THEIR NUMBERS. -Maria Gonzalez and Alison Robinson
The Achaean's flight to the ships serves three important purposes in the narratives; what are they?
When the Acheans fled to the ships it showed us that the people would do whatever they believed the gods wanted them to do. When Agamemnon thought that Zeus wanted him to attack Troy, he did so.
Also, when they made decisions pretty much based on whoever gave the best speech. Like in modern politics, our debates are based on speaking abilities. For example, nobody really liked Thersites because he was a horrible orator, making him unable to make decisions himself.
The people in the Iliad also relied on stories, not unlike parables, to also give directon. For example, the story of the eight chicks tells of a snake eating a nest of chicks and their mother. The meaning of the story was to not just stand around and do nothing, but to take action. They relied on this story for a little timeline, they belevied that the war was to last nine years, becuase the snake ate nine birds, and that on the tenth year they would finally be victorious in taking over Troy.
• The first purpose that it serves is that they had many gods. They take advise from the gods in order to figure out there next move. For an example, king Agamemnon listened to his dream about the war plan against Troy and went on from there. • The second purpose would be it informs them about the weather in the future. For example, when Agamemnon had to kill his daughter so that the wind would blow them to Troy.
The Achaean's flight to the ships serves three important purposes in the narratives; what are they?
The Achaean flight to the ships shows that the Achaeans didn’t think for themselves. If they were told something, they did it. They didn’t have the intellectual brain power to speak up against authority and tell them that they were wrong. I think that the Achaeans were cowards and only the misfits had any courage. When Agamemnon told them that they could go home they ran towards the ships and didn’t think twice about it. Thersites was the only one with enough courage and intellectual brain power to stand up and speak for himself. It also showed the power of Athena because she persuaded the people to stay and fight. Donna and savannah
Commenting on Donna and Savannah, You guys put it in your own words and they were great. But it seems like you only have two purposes. (Maybe you didn't finish?)
Commenting on To May and Emily, I don't agree with you on your first reason. I don't see what having to go home and see their families had to do with their flight. If they didn't even leave. It was all a test of power for king Agememnon.
Commenting on Zac, Alex and Jonathan, I don't think Mrs.Velez was referring to the list of ships and people that was included at the end. I think she meant the part where the Achaeans were all ready to go back to their homes. Not the actual data. So putting that aside you guys did have very valid reasons.
The flight to the ships tells Agamemnon how loyal the me are to their cause. If your army isn't happy with their situation they tend to not work really hard to their goal. Their reaction shows their will to fight the trojans. It also tell of how prideful they are. if they are willing to leave and let the Trojans say that they just ran away then then national pride must not be at an all time high. Their actions also sow their loyalty to Helen. If they were after 9 years still really devoted to her they probably would have wanted to stay. Laura Johnson
Finishing Donna and Savannah's answers: The Achaean flight to the ships shows that the Achaeans didn’t think for themselves. It also showed the courage of Thersites to stand up and ask the king why they were allowed to leave, when they had a war to fight! I personally think that the reason the men left in a hurry was becuase they had been fighting for 9 years and I'm sure that they wanted to go home and see thier families. (either that or they just didn't want to fight anymore) Putting you rlife in danger is probably very tiring, so maybe they just wanted to go home and sleep.
1.One of the purposes was to see who is loyal to there king agamemnon. 2.another reason was to show that he had power over his army.He can make them do whatever he wants them to do. 3.Another reason was to show that the gods influenced them in many ways. Agamemnon had a dream that told him he was going to take troy. Jacob Green
The first purpose that it serves is that they had many gods. They take advise from the gods in order to figure out there next move. For an example, king Agamemnon listened to his dream about the war plan against Troy and went on from there. • The second purpose would be it informs them about the weather in the future. For example, when Agamemnon had to kill his daughter so that the wind would blow them to Troy.
another purpose would bve that it was (obviously) a test of loyalty. Agamemnon told his soldiers that they were just going to go back home but in reality Agamemnon just wanted to see who was the most loyal of his men.
and the last purpose that I think that it would serve would be that it hows exactly how great the army was. Like in the Iliad when they listed off all of the boats and the men( which was crazy long) it was just a point to " show off" how big and bad their army was.
To Haley and Mitch- I think that you guys should have at least described why you thought those were the three purposes
To Donna and Savannah- OMG! you guys went so in depth that you're making the rest of us look bad (JK) But you guys did a great job of elaborating on your topic especially since there were like people on the blog who wrote like barely anything. Great Job again guys.
First off, it was to see how loyal the people were to the gods. If they backed down they looked selfish and cowardly. Second, It proves how strong and powerful the people are. Third, To understand the process of fighting troy.
For me, one of the MOST important purposes is serves is to try and describe the numbers of men. In that its trying to make us try to fathom the great numbers. Its a turning point, its no longer a simple war. Its a simple war that has more faith than it had nine years ago. More faith in their own thoughts and beliefs and more faith in their kings, princes and warlords. It is also showing us the mass effect a god role is played. Zeus the king of gods is playing with the two waring groups. It is unclear who he is helping but, but to the mortal men of the war, they are certain that Zeus is on their side. I have yet to see any two gods fight one another, most have just have chosen their sides and are ready to help.
The Achaean's flight to the ships serves three important purposes in the narratives; what are they?
One of the important purposes was to see how loyal the Achaeans were to Agamemnon. When they heard that they could leave the shores of Troy and could sail back to their homes, they were overjoyed. Odysseus, persuaded by Hera that it was the right thing to do, went around and talked to the highest ranking Princes and leaders in order to ask them if they really thought this was the right thing to do. However, in the end, all of the Achaeans stayed to fight with Agamemnon.
Another important purpose was to show how easily people were controlled and manipulated by Agamemnon and by the gods. The kings would listen to whatever the gods had to say and the warriors and common people would listen to what the king and princes have to say. Evidently the Achaeans all stayed to fight for the defeat of Troy out of respect for their king and for Helen.
And that brings us to the last important purpose. All men were supposed to love Helen. She is “the face that launched a thousand ships” and she also is the reason, in the story, for such destruction and loss in lives. The warriors had fought for 9 years without getting past the wall of Troy. It would be shameful to return home without the one they came for (Helen) and without having destroyed Troy as they said they would. This is another reason the Achaeans stayed to fight the Trojans instead of sailing home.
The Achaean's flight to the ships serves three important purposes in the narratives; what are they? 1) Loyalty to king 2) decition process 3) will to fight the Trojans 4) number of men to picture that as much more of a deal than just saying people fighting. 5) and love for the gods (Zues or Hera). Abigail Miramon
The Achaean's flight to the ships serves three important purposes in the narratives; what are they?
King Agamemnon wanted to see who was loyal and who was weak. When a large group of men flew back to the ships, it confirmed that they were weak and could be easily swayed.
Next, King Agamemnon wanted to display his over all power. If you remember, before the men rushed to the ships there was a stand still of sorts. This shows that they were nervous, and since the Trojans weren't there who else could they be frightened of other than the king himself?
Last he wanted to see how much they wanted Troy. Like, an honest want for victory. Obviously, again, the Achaens did not display this resulting in Odysseus rushing to halt them with brute force. Then they realized how much they needed and wanted to sack that town.
Abby- Weren't you supposed to write 2 paragraphs? I also wondered why you had more than 3, but you didn't explain why you thought that.
Haley Young and Mitch- I thought that your answers were very short and uunexplained. Maybe next time try to use more than 15 words for your answer. -Savannah Smith
To Hannah Shih im pretty sure we were supposed to do this in paragraph form but other then that your reasons are good. To Charisse J it seemed like all your answers were kindof saying the same thing.
to hannah shih: i think that your answers were good from the book but i feel that they had no personality and your opinion in it what did u feel was the most important? maybe thats a good thing to keep in mind next time you answer these kinds of questions instead of stiking straight to what the book says it's kinda like copy and paste but thats what i think thnxs 4 ur time. The Achaean's flight to the ships serves three important purposes in the narratives; what are they?
the three important reasons are:
1.It shows that the army was loyal to the king, because he told them that they didn't have to go to war, but they did anyway. 2. Another reason was to fight for helen. Because she was almost left behind by the warriors. 3. My third reason was how they showed that they had such a large army. In the book, Homer talks about the sizes of each army and he says that the achaean army is a lot bigger.
But how can we be sure they never had such great numbers before? Yes it's still incredible that there were that many people but..
For me, one of the MOST important purposes is serves is to try and describe the numbers of men. In that its trying to make us try to fathom the great numbers. - To see who is loyal to the king and also, who is strong and who are weak. The strong, loyal people basically fled to the ships, willing to do anything that King Agamemnon, while, of course, the "unloyal" and weak decided not to have any part in this.
- To also show how the gods have an influence on the people. When the Achaeans fled to the ships, it shows that they are very loyal to their gods, and will do about anything to please them.
- To see how much people wanted Troy. If they all wanted Troy that badly, they would most likely go through great lengths to get it.
I little bit more detail please? I feel the answers are incomplete. Sorry if sound mean.
Commenting Maddie & Caitlyn:
Nice answers! I really hadn't thought about how many people were actually in the Achaen army. I need to pay attention to little details like that, so thank you for bringing up that fact.
The Achaean's flight to the ships serves three important purposes in the narratives; what are they?
The three reasons are to see who is loyal to Agamemnon, to show that they were loyal to the gods, and finally, to show the decision process of the Achaeans. Agamemnon sort of played a trick on the peoples by making a long speech about how it would better for them to go home and ask them what are they fighting for? Well, this is to see who is loyal. The loyal men will still want to fight, but the unloyal men will run home like cowards.
The second reason is to show their loyalty to the gods. The gods basically make most of the decisions, but the mortal kings pass those on to the people. Finally, it shows the decision-making process of the Achaeans. Honestly, they are not that well organized. Mostly they just debate amongst themselves until they reach a conclusion, or, until one of the gods comes down and helps them resolve it.
We liked the way your analysis was very detailed, and that you included that the gods influence also determines how the decision making process is affected by them.
COMMENTING TO HANNAH SHIH: You didn't put your answer into two paragraphs, you made it into a list instead. And, it only asked for three answers, whereas you gave 7. The answers you did give proved you read and comprehended but you should really follow directions.
COMMENTING TO DE'ANDREAH: You obviously follow directions well and read the book. But, your paragraphs were really short. Maybe you could lengthen your paragraphs (without making it wordy), or combine paragraphs that could be combined. I'm just throwing ideas out there.
commenting on hanna shih: your answers were too short. you didn't really explain them either. and i thought we only were suppose to mention 3 things...
commenting on Mallory Caillaud-Jones:
your answers were really long. and they really explained everything really well. and you also wrote a paragraph for each finding. Good Job!
1) To make sure the army would stay loyal to their king, Argamemnon. 2) To find out the armys will to fight the Trojans. 3) To show the readers how large, and strong his army was.
The first purpose that the flight to the ships serves is that it shows who is loyal to the king. The king tested the people by seeing who whould leave when he said that they should leave because they would never be able to conquer troy. All the people who stayed showed that they were loyal the second purpose shows that they are loyal to the gods too. The dream sent to Agamemnon says that they will be able to conquer Troy. By not going home they show that they are also loyal to the gods. The third purpose shows how big their army is. It also makes it relateable to other people when they say where all the people came from. It makes people more interested in the whole story. Kelly Drelles and Yasmen Wells
commenting to emily bennett and may hogan. I don't think that Helen was actually a goddess. She was actually a regular woman. paris was supposed to to have kiddnaped her from her husband. Laura Johnson
they had a long list of ships and people to show how vast the army and war was. The fact that they did this they also made listeners more engaged in the story. It made them more engaged because they wonder if they're related some how. The test of loyalty was tricky agamemnon kind of played it off as a guilt trip on the Achaeans for them wanting to leave. This also showed about the decision making process. It showed how unorganized and rudimentary it was.
1. to See who the soldiers were that were loyal 2. To see which god influence 3. To show how the Acheans decided who was loyal enoughand their decision process overall 4. Who was willing to go home and not fight and who was willing to stay and fight for what they believe they should fight for. 5. It gave a description on who the real loyal leaders were and what they were about and if they were willing to staynad fight.
Your answer were not very long, but you had a lot of them. There were a lot of reasons why their flight to their ships were importatn. Very nicely done.
Commenting on Nate
Your answers were really indepth. It really helped me see the info from another view. I should've done my answers more lke yours.
i think that you used many examples which made me understand it better. you went into depth which made many visuals in my head. your list was important facts that served a purpose.
The Achean's flight to the ships serve several purposes, but the following are the ones I believe are the most important. The first important purpose was to see who was loyal to the Agamemnon by helping in conqering Troy, and also how they were loyal in obeying what the gods asked of them. The people who took part in this historic event show how they not only fought for honor and loyalty, but also for the pride of their families. Another important purpose mentioned is that it shows how much the gods had influence over the people. For example if they didn't have a say in what actions should be taken towards a decision, then a conclusion among the people will never be completed. Without the gods playing part in the fleeing to the ships, who knows? Maybe the battle would have been given up. The last thought I have about this subject is that many of the numbers of ships and people mentioned in the book show how big and important the army was. Many of the details mentioned about the towns also give an idea on how people in the future thought some of the people in the war were relevant to them. Overall the Achean's flight to the ships showed loyalty, how their decision making process worked, the commitment to fight, and the power of the gods ifluencing them.
COMMENTING ON HANNAH AND ANDREA: We can tell that you put a lot of time into your answers and carefully analized them. GREAT JOB!
COMMENTING ON HANNA SHIH: We like that you put all of the things that you think are important for the Achaean's flight to the ships, but we suggest that you put the ones that you think are most important.
commenting abigal miramon We actually had to put the answers is paragraph form dont feel bad cuz i did the same. You might want to rewrite it tho just to make sure you get all the credit. Other than that good job.
commenting ruben musonda I think you did a real good job with this. I like the way you looked at the liturature and put it in good words. So all i can say is good job.
commenting to Hanna Shi I think that it is interesting that you think that king agamemnon sent them to the ships because he wanted to see how the gods would react. Because after all they did react. It almost shows who favors the Trojan war and who doesn't. Laura Johnson
The Achaeans flight to the ship serves three important purposes those purposes were that 1. The King Agamemnon used a very clever test to see who in his army was loyal to what they were doing.2. To see if the y truly cared for their Helen. Also show how spirited the truly were in their ability in. 3. It also showed that the Achaeans are truly going to try to take Troy with there own power. That they had faith in what the gods prophesied and how the protected them.

To Savvahna i completely agree with you it does show how they didnt act. I get how you get that Athenas power of persuetion is displaed by this. The matter with your last answer is that I dont think he spoke up to be brave but to be abnoxious towards the king.
To Marriea and Alison I agree with all of your answers they're very much correct and ver accurate. You used lots of detaails in your answers and mae it very discriptive. I feel that you realize they true purpose of the answers. -Justice Mason
2nd part to my answer i do believe that they showed that they truely had dedication and valor and for their King and gods. I also belives this show the true charecter and ability of some charecters like Therites it show his true charecter of being abnoxious and disrespectful to speech out against his kings wishes and also his bravery in doing so but his foolishness as well. Athena show how she affects the Acheans and there disigions. -Justice Mason
Mrs. Velez told our class, 1st hour, that we needed to have two paragraphs minimum for our analysis. I assume Mrs. Velez told your class otherwise since I have seen other 3rd hour students do the same thing you have done, by putting facts but not writing paragraphs. If not, I would advise you to start writing in paragraphs. The only reason I picked on you was because you were the first to write your analysis from 3rd hour.
Commenting on Gabriela Guzman
I think you focused mostly on the list of names in the book. You should have also talked about other important purposes like the Achaeans’ loyalty to Agamemnon or to show how easily people were being manipulated by the gods. I got a little bit confused about who wrote what paragraph. Unless Mrs. Velez told your class something else I believe we are supposed to write min. two paragraph per analysis. But otherwise, good job!
COMMENTING ON ANDREA STEWART AND HANNAH TRIPP: Well I really liked how both of you analyzed this book well ,and even showed examples from it to support your answers. I agree that one of the main purposes was that the Acheans did whatever the gods wanted them to. However the other two you mentioned weren't in my answers, but I still found them interesting. Both of you mentioned that the most of the decision making was also based largely on who made the best speech, which is proven true in some cases. The other fact about the characters of the Iliad getting information from stories also let us know how they might have about the way the lived and thought. Overall good job in explaining your answers.
COMMENTING ON HALEY YOUNG AND MITCH SPAULDING: I thought your answers weren't thorough enough even the main purposes were stated. A suggestion for next time is to elaborate more on your answers, and that way you'll get more points from Mrs. Velez.By doing this,it will also help the reader undertand more about what you're talking about. For example you could have given more details on how many people showed loyalty to the king and how their will to fight was tested.
One important purpose was to test the Achaean army's loyalty. Agamemnon wanted to see if they would stay and fight after 9 years or go home to their families. Another purpose was to show how much power Agamemnon had over the entire army. He told them to go, and they went. The last purpose was to test the army's courage as well. If they were really courageous, they would have stayed and fought.
I liked how one of your reasons was to see how much they really wanted to sack Troy. Not any people (if any) used that reason, and it made sense too!I also liked how your explained each reason. Your gave just the right amount of information, not to much, and not to little.
I liked most of your answers, except I think you could have come up with a better reason than to show how many soldiers there were. You could have said to should how much they wanted to over through Troy. For your other answers, I liked how you went behind the actual fact and explained things that led up to it.
YOUR ANALYSIS IS VERY DETAILED IT WAS A GOOD SUMMARY FOR BOOK 2. YOU WENT IN DEPTH AND THE EFFORT REALLY SHOWS. PUTTING IT IN LESS WORDS WOULD MAKE IT MORE CONVIENIENT. BUT YOU GAVE A LOT OF GOOD INFO.
comment to Fabiola I thought that all of the purposes you listed werg well written. You answered the question completely and you gave examples. I am happy to see that you did at least two paragraphs too. Kelly Drelles
one important purpose is to show how many people were in battle, the second one is to image how many people were in the war, and the last one is showed how many ships that were sent out to troy.
comment to Hanna Shih I like that you went above and beyond nd listed more than three purposes. I also liked all the purposes that you listed. I wish that you would've elborated on what you said and I think that your anlysis would have been better if you didn't just list the points. You should've put your points into at least two paragraphs Kelly Drelles
Commenting on Hanna Shih I like how you listed more than 3 good reasons. Commenting on Maddie Hoffman and Caitlyn McGlynn Good answer, very detailed. Zac Abid.
The Acheans flight to the ships shows thier loyalty and trust for the king. It shows this because they wouldnt just volunteer to fight unless they trusted the kings judgement.
Another thing it shows is how many people were willing to fight. Alot of people went out to the ships to fight and they were mentioned in the book. And the last thing is thier love and care for Helen.
You gave a lot of answers, and good job on that. However, some of them don't make sense. They don't really respond to the question. You should make you answers a bit more clear. -Matt Hinkel

1. One major factor is when the King tests the loyalty of the Achaeans whether to see if they will stay.
2.Another purpose was to display the Achaeans decision making process.
3. Also when Athena came down to Odysseus to tell him to stay in troy.(stevn rulz)

Book 2:
-one important purpose for the flight of the ships we thought was to eventually conqure troy.

-Hannah Tripp and Andrea Stewart
• The first purpose that it serves is that they had many gods. They take advise from the gods in order to figure out there next move. For an example, king Agamemnon listened to his dream about the war plan against Troy and went on from there.
• The second purpose would be it informs them about the weather in the future. For example, when Agamemnon had to kill his daughter so that the wind would blow them to Troy.

I don't think Mrs.Velez was referring to the list of ships and people that was included at the end.

1.One of the purposes was to see who is loyal to there king agamemnon.

another purpose would bve that it was (obviously) a test of loyalty.

RUEBEN MUSONDA

1) Loyalty to king
2) decition process
3) will to fight the Trojans
4) number of men to picture that as much more of a deal than just saying people fighting.
5) and love for the gods (Zues or Hera).

The Achaean's flight to the ships serves three important purposes in the narratives; what are they?
1. To see who is loyal to King Agamemnon
2. To show that they believed in what the gods told them to do.
3. To "show off" the numbers of their forces and their decision making process.

Eulices Monterroso
The Achaean's flight towards the ships served three purposes which were:
1. To test there loyality, to see if they would stay back and argue with his decision, and go on with destroying the city.
2. Also, it shows the desperarity of the Greek's situation. It shows how the soldiers were sick of doing that and homesick.
3. Nestor's advice about them being arranged keeps them motivated because they will be fighting side by side.

The 3 important purposes in the narratives:
- To see who is loyal to the king and also, who is strong and who are weak. The strong, loyal people basically fled to the ships, willing to do anything that King Agamemnon, while, of course, the "unloyal" and weak decided not to have any part in this.
- To also show how the gods have an influence on the people. When the Achaeans fled to the ships, it shows that they are very loyal to their gods, and will do about anything to please them.
- To see how much people wanted Troy. If they all wanted Troy that badly, they would most likely go through great lengths to get it.

--Megan Crawford
1. One reason was to test who in the army was loyal to the cause, by starting to send them home and then seeing who would stay and fight.

The first purpose that the flight to the ships serves is that it shows who is loyal to the king. The king tested the people by seeing who whould leave when he said that they should leave because they would never be able to conquer troy. All the people who stayed showed that they were loyal
the second purpose shows that they are loyal to the gods too. The dream sent to Agamemnon says that they will be able to conquer Troy. By not going home they show that they are also loyal to the gods.
The third purpose shows how big their army is. It also makes it relateable to other people when they say where all the people came from. It makes people more interested in the whole story.

One important purpose was to test the Achaean army's loyalty. Agamemnon wanted to see if they would stay and fight after 9 years or go home to their families. I thought that all of the purposes you listed werg well written. You answered the question completely and you gave examples. I am happy to see that you did at least two paragraphs too.
Kelly Drelles
one important purpose is to show how many people were in battle, the second one is to image how many people were in the war, and the last one is showed how many ships that were sent out to troy.

I like that you went above and beyond nd listed more than three purposes. I also liked all the purposes that you listed. I wish that you would've elborated on what you said and I think that your anlysis would have been better if you didn't just list the points. You should've put your points into at least two paragraphs
Kelly Drelles
1.To show how loyal the people are to the king, to the king subdornates, and to the war.
2. To show who was loyal and ready for the war, to show who was willing to figh tfor the Achaeans.
3. To show who was done and ready to go homw, ti show who was tired and wanted to leave, who can not.

1. Care for Helen
2. Loyalty and trust to the king

Breanna's Answer in paragraphs form:
The Acheans flight to the ships shows thier loyalty and trust for the king. It shows this because they wouldnt just volunteer to fight unless they trusted the kings judgement.
Another thing it shows is how many people were willing to fight. Alot of people went out to the ships to fight and they were mentioned in the book. And the last thing is thier love and care for Helen.
Hanna Shih- You gave several examples but they were supposed to be in paragraph form. I forgot at first, but i reposted.
Maria G- your answers are always good, but sometimes alittle wordy. try to elaborate without saying too much.

You gave a lot of answers, and good job on that. However, some of them don't make sense. They don't really respond to the question. You should make you answers a bit more clear.
